Are you challenging yourself Enough
I have been struggling lately. I ended the last year on such a high, I honestly thought it would carry through to the new year. But nope, I am struggling to get back to form. Even gym hasn’t really seen me much this year.
But you made such good time on the 15km Bay to Bay you say? Well, that’s Bay to Bay. It seems to be the one thing I do ever since I started. After that my one day of rest turns into a week and before I know it, halala February, then March and would you believe it April is already here!
So Monday evening I purposed to pull myself up and at least put in a short swim or something. I pulled myself out of bed early Tuesday morning and got my gym and work stuff ready. As I pulled out of the garage, a group of cyclists zoomed past and I thought to myself, ‘Wow, that’s dedication right there.’ As I pulled into the main road, 2 tandem bikes rolled past, father and son (about 10) and father(might have been mother) and daughter (looked 8ish). That blew me away. Here I was, literally dragging myself to gym and here were kids, already out on the road at 5am. Looked like preparation for the argus but it blew me away.
As I was getting home that evening, I saw a group of young boys cycling like mad. The wind howling around them and almost blowing them off their bikes. I was impressed further.
Lesson learnt: Life is not easy. Nothing comes easy, or as we say, Nothing for Mahala! If you want something, you need to prepare for it. Sometimes the preparation will be easy or convenient, but most of the time it will not. It will be hard. It will be painful. It will be inconvenient. It will be painful.
If you want to meet your goals, you need to work hard at them. Prepare!
